Galvanized Drywall Screws/+Drywall Screws

is securing full sheets of drywall (usually 4-foot by 8-foot for do-it-yourselfers) or partial sheets of drywall to either wood or metal studs. Galvanized drywall screws are good for repairing nail pops.

The term “galvanized” refers to the application of a protective zinc coating, typically on iron or steel. Quality metal roofing screws will have some form of galvanizing in order to protect against the formation of red rust, which can result in failing screws and damage to the metal panels.

Galvanized screws are characterized by the presence of a protective zinc shell that’s achieved by submerging the screws in molten zinc. Known as hot-tip galvanizing, this finishing process adds a layer of zinc over the surface of a screw.
